Xavier Torrents, as the project director, and Carlos Martínez Interiors, two leading names in the restaurant industry, have created Banquet Barcelona. The result of this partnership is an interior design project that brings back the sensations of a 1950s-style vintage venue.
The challenge has been to merge two concepts that may seem opposed: the refinement of a French Bistrot with the ambience of a Barcelona kitchen.
Banquet Barcelona and Sergi de Meià bring traditional cuisine up to date, adapting it to the times and current needs. The chef defines it as ‘a Barcelona cuisine that is enriched with seasonal, local, modern and cosmopolitan products thanks to cooking techniques from other countries and the result of professional experiences, reading and personal travels’.
